Flooring
CARPET:
Tile and hardwood are great choices for your floor, but there are places that need to be softer and have more of a cozy feel. Carpet will give your home the welcoming feel you need and with the countless choices that are available today, can do it in style. We can find a carpet that will fit your budget and home fashion needs.
TILE WORK:
Tile can be found from your floors, to the back splash of your kitchen, or around your jacuzzi tub. It is an ancient art that when mixed with the modern touch of choice, can really accent your home. There are many types of tile ranging from granite, porcelain, marble and traditional clays. I can advise you in choosing your tile to best fit the application for your home.
PRE-FINISHED FLOORING:
When it comes to hardwood floors you can choose from pre-finished floors or a raw wood plank. There are pros and cons to both choices of course. The positives to a pre-finished floors are that you can attain exotic woods that would not be readily available in a raw wood. You are also able to install it and not have to leave your home due to chemical vapors of polyurithane since the flooring already comes finished. This is very convenient in remodel jobs. Home are some warnings about the floor in my experience with it. Keep in mind that it can be sensitive to your animals nails. It will show scratches through the finish depending on the wood. It is also a more labor intensive install, requiring extreme care, this will be reflected in the cost. The flooring may come with a finished bevel around each board which can attract dirt if not maintained.
RAW OAK:
The positives with using a raw oak plank are told in it’s vast history. This flooring lasts a long time. It can be re-finished again and again to create a brand new appearance. It is extremely durable and will not show scratches easily in the finish. There are advances in wood filler/ putty that are easy to use in the event the flooring has a dig or gap.
I do find that over time the flooring will react to temperature by shrinking, creating some gaps in the flooring lay-out. Again this can be fixed with wood fillers.
